BECK&CO. is...
BECK & CO. is Mike Dilbeck. BECK & CO. is also the many talented and skilled professionals Mike hires to produce your organization’s video/film project or special event. Mike has been fortunate to surround himself over the past 15 years with the industry’s finest script writers, on-camera and voice-over talent, camera crews, editors, hair/make-up artists, musical composers, graphic artists, event decorators, entertainment managers/agents, and many more specialties your project depends on.

 Knowledge

BECK & CO.’s President, Mike Dilbeck, is intimately familiar with the video production and special event industry. After earning his MBA from Texas Christian University, he served on the staff of Sigma Nu International Fraternity, Inc. for two years and produced over 20 video presentations for that organization and produced two international conventions. After receiving many inquiries from other organizations, he started BECK & CO. which focused, at that time, exclusively on video and film communications for the non-profit and corporate industrial communities. He then served as Director of the Texas AIDS Ride, Director of Special Events for the AIDS Foundation of Chicago, and Program Director for the National AIDS Marathon Training Program. Today, he has produced over 70 video presentations, won four international awards, produced powerful and effective fundraising events, and brings over 17 years experience to our clients.

Experience

Having produced more than 70 videos for 30 different organizations nationwide and several large and profitable fundraising events, BECK & CO. has the experience, knowledge and a keen understanding of the unique needs of every client. Because of our diverse background in film, video and special event production, we are exceptionally qualified to address the issues unique to the client in a concise, highly professional and results-oriented manner. And because we have serviced clients nationwide, we are able to work with a staff, Board and/or committee to develop the concept and manage all the production requirements in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Innovation

In 1993, BECK & CO. formed the Greek Video Consortium to produce high-quality video & film presentations to enable multiple fraternities and sororities to join forces to produce videos on issues that are common to all organizations. The Consortium has produced four video projects with more than 20 participating national organizations. Risky Business was the first project of the Consortium and it addressed the risk management issues facing collegians today. Gender War/Gender Peace took a documentary approach to addressing the communication difficulties between collegiate men and women. Friendly Fire deals with hazing in fraternities and sororities and some innovative ways to offer solutions. GET REAL: Thinking About Drinking, is a 30-minute program addressing the abusive drinking habits of college students across the country. The latest project, RESPONSE ABILITY, is a DVD package with two “reality”-type videos addressing bystander behavior in Greek organizations. For more information, click here.

In the special events arena, MIke has served as the primary and lead staff person to develop two inaugural mass-marketed fundraising events. The Tanqueray’s Texas AIDS Ride brought over 1000 cyclists together to ride across the state of Texas -- from Austin, through Houston, and into Dallas -- and raised more than $2M for AIDS service organizations in the Lone Star State. In 2003, Mike was the catalyst to bring a major fundraising event to Chicago -- the National AIDS Marathon Training Program. In its first three years, Mike lead the program to train over 3,000 people to run a marathon and raise nearly $5M for the AIDS Foundation of Chicago.

Awards

BECK & CO. has received the highest awards of excellence in the international communications industry. Three International Telly Awards were presented to Friendly Fire and one International Gold Quill Award to Gender War/Gender Peace. The Telly and the Gold Quill are recognized as the highest awards of excellence in the non-broadcast video industry.

In 2009, BECK & CO. was awarded the prestigious LAUREL WREATH AWARD from the North-American Interfraternity Conference (NIC) for RESPONSE ABILITY. This award is presented to the education program that has made the biggest impact on the interfraternal community.
